Time was moving closer and closer
to the edge of school's ending. The seniors had already prepared for the final
graduation test. There was an air of excited anticipation as another school
year was coming to close. James sat in sixth period looking out of the window
thinking of what was to come in the next few days. He and Si had been very busy
putting all the plans into place along with the help of so many of the other
seniors.
To his and Simone's surprise their meeting
with Mr. Johnson last week had gone very well. After they had explained
everything that Norton had revealed to them Mr. Johnson actually had given them
some great ideas to add to the plan.
James was becoming more and more impatient as
the clock just didn't seem to be moving. He was meeting Si and a few of the
other teachers after school. There were a few final touches to be worked out
before the ball could get rolling. Once it did get rolling it was going to be
one hell of a ride. One that he and so many others' were looking forward to.
The bell finally rang signaling that the day
was finally over. James reached over snatching his book bag off the floor,
practically knocking over the desk as he jumped up. He was so ready to get
things going and he knew that Si was itching to get this thing done. She more
than most loved a good fight and this one was really going to set some folks
off. This was indeed right up Si's alley.
James waded through the mass of students
hurrying to either get to their buses so they could cop a good seat, usually by
the window or those that had their own rides, or were walking.
He strained his head looking above the crowed
hallway for Si till he finally spotted her.
" Yo, Si, here. Hurry up we gotta
get." James hollered at her as she came his way.
" Yea, I see you, I'm trying to get
there, hang on." Si yelled back. She pushed her way through the hallway
shouting as she moved forward, " C'use me, move it, move it, don't mean to
be a witchy-bitchie boo here. Gotta go, man move over let me through, thank ya,
thank ya. Okay, coming through." she continued to yell as she pushed her
way to James.
Finally both of them stood in the middle of
the hallway taking a second to look at each other. They knew that this was the
beginning to something very important for so many people.
With a look between them that really required
no words they simply smiled at one another, turned and headed for Mr. Johnson
room. Now the good work would begin and soon everything that they had planned for
the last week would finally come together.
